Only a few of our CLIENTS

  • Victoria & Albert Museum

»Opera« takes the visitors on a musical journey through the 400-year history of opera by portraying seven premieres in seven European capitals. Music is the driving force of this exhibition and the challenge was to create an immersive, high-fidelity sound experience for each segment of the exhibition.

With tonwelt’s supraGuide TOUCH and unique triggering technology – linked up directly to the show control system in the central rack room – we delivered a seamless, location specific soundscape, which accompanied the visitors throughout their journey, including lip-sync sound for the various multiscreen videos.

»The listening is probably the best part of this richly fascinating show. As we move from section to section, or pause beside a single exhibit, headphones automatically deliver the accompanying music.«

  • Cite du Vin

La Cité du Vin is a unique cultural centre dedicated to the living heritage of wine. It offers a spectacular journey around the world, throughout the ages, across countless cultures and civilisations.

At the heart of the experience is an immersive, multi-sensory permanent tour through 19 different themed spaces in which the visitors are invited to interacting directly with the digital exhibits. All the audiovisual exhibits are accessed and interpreted by the visitors’ personal supraGuide touch, branded by La Cité du Vin as “compagnon de voyage”. By scanning special beacons placed throughout the exhibition, the visitors activate and access content at the individual terminals, which is sent from the central video servers to the more than 200 screens. For each of these terminals tonwelt created interpretative, lip-sync audio content in eight different languages plus special content in each language for children and teenager.

Enjoying wine is a communal activity. It was therefore a special requirement of this project to create an audio experience, which allows visitors to listen to their interpretative audio content without being cut off from the surrounding soundscape. tonwelt therefore developed a unique headset with free-floating ear cups, the supraPhones.

For an improved after visit experience each visitor can store a diary of their favourite exhibits and topics on their supraGuide. Back at home the visitors can then access relevant information about their visit on a personalised area of the website of La Cité du Vin.

  • Giants Causeway

The world famous Giant’s Causeway – located right on the wild Atlantic Ocean – attracts close to a million visitors each year. Weather can be very rough with regular rainfalls throughout the year. In 2017, tonwelt was appointed as the new supplier for the audio guide, which is included in the admission fee. For an improved visitor experience, tonwelt introduced the supraGuide ECO with outdoor triggering, which allows visitors now to explore this unique site as an hands-off experience.

In March 2018, tonwelt created new content for the indoor exhibition at the Visitor Centre with multilingual video sync sound for some of the films, thereby reducing sound spill in the building. High-level tracks on key messages and learning outcomes now inform the visitor about the history and creation of this unique site.

  • Nest

To mark the 150th anniversary of its founding, Nestlé, the world’s biggest food company, opened a unique experience center for young and old in a space of more than 3,000 square meters. On a spectacular multimedia tour visitors not only learn about Nestlé and the history of the company but can explore some of the biggest challenges of our time regarding nutrition. In a playful, interactive manner they experience a committed vision of the future of food.

Our mediaguide enables visitors to scan symbols to trigger the media stations, hear lip-synched audio tracks for videos and exhibits in their language and comment on their visit to the exhibition.

  • Scotch Whiskey Experience

For whisky enthusiasts – and all converts – there is only one address in Edinburgh: The Scotch Whisky Experience, located at the top of Edinburgh’s famous Royal Mile, right next to door to Edinburgh Castle.

All tours are led in English by an expert guide. But as 80% of visitors are international, there is a chance that not everyone will be fluent enough to follow. To cater for this international audience, tonwelt delivered 100 supraGuide TOUCH for interpretation in 18 languages, plus tours in British Sign Language and American Sign Language. As the group assembles and waits to start the tour, the visitors can use the supraGuide to explore some themes in preparation. Content is also automatically triggered when the group enters a room and watches one the digital installations, including a barrel ride explaining the process of transforming grain to whisky. At other stops, the guide can remotely activate prerecorded messages, timed to the live presentation in English. This allows the Scotch Whisky Experience to have mixed tours, streamlining the operations of the site immensely.
